“Life happens – and new chapters will have a positive effect on us. – But don’t forget to indulge in chocolate!” This is how Lucy Mountain, a sporty fashion blogger based in London, describes her experience as well as talking about her fitness journey, reminding us that we should not be too strict with ourselves. With her amazing and functional outfits and a brand new pair of Porsche sunglasses, Lucy represents the new active wear fashion trend in her fitness blog The Fashion Fitness Foodie.

How would you describe your blogging style?

“Honest, encouraging and (particularly) witty. I treat my blog as my little outlet to express my creativity, talk to the community and hopefully inspire others to live a fitter, healthier lifestyle in their own way.”

How do you balance being a successful influencer?

“I work full-time in marketing for SIX3NINE Personal Training. Although that does not leave much time for writing and content creation during the week, the time that I do spend working on it rarely feels like a chore because I am in love with every aspect of it.

That being said, I do avoid putting too much pressure on myself to post according to a fixed schedule. Life happens and sometimes I’ll go days or weeks where I struggle to fit in time to post – and that’s okay. My blog is an expression of myself – and it is totally normal to be inconsistent at times.”

 Greatest achievement outside of blogging?

“Gain my degree in Marketing was a proud moment however I think moving to London by myself was one of my greatest achievements physically and mentally.

I had lived in the same city all my life until I turned 22. I took the leap and applied for a job despite having my doubts, and I am beyond thankful I did. I have achieved independence, freedom and the career of my dreams.”

What is the thing you love most about blogging?

“Making a positive impact on someone you’ve never met. There’s nothing quite like it.”

Have you ever thought of creating a personal workout program?

“Having worked for a personal training company for the past few years, I now understand the sheer complexity of the human body. Generic workout plans have their place for people who can’t afford one-to-one training however having witnessed the incredible impact a good coach can have on a client, a one-size-fits-all workout guide is not something I would aim to create.”

Which is your favourite outfit to work out?

“Adanola everything. Minimal, incredible quality and muted tones.”

One must-have ingredient we should always have in our cupboard?

“Mini Smarties! They are just the perfect way to end the day. I always need something sweet before I go to bed so I always keep some in my cupboard. (Plus they’re only 60 calories.) I don’t cut anything I love the taste of out of my diet.”

What advice would you give your younger self, that you wished you’d gotten?

“It is okay if you’re not everyone’s cup of tea. You do not have to be liked by everyone in order to be a good person. Keep doing you.

(And NEVER buy Skinny Detox Tea!)”
